A part of the curriculum (AGSO) on active citizenship pays attention on internationalisation. The school concept ‘school of the world’ describes learning lines for international cooperation. ENCORA, a large center for adult education, within the AGSO network made a bullet point out of these learning lines. This results each year in an increasing number of students they exchange with international partners.

6. Description

ENCORA in Antwerp is an educational institution for adults that places a strong emphasis on internationalisation. Our center is dedicated to promoting active citizenship and we achieve this by partnering with international organisations and schools from around the world.

Here are some of the key points that highlight our commitment to internationalisation:

• Collaboration with international partners: We work closely with schools and public and private organisations from other countries to foster cultural exchange and collaboration. Our students have the opportunity to engage in international projects and initiatives, gaining a broader perspective on the world and a greater understanding of different cultures.

• Student exchanges: Encora encourages its students to participate in student exchange programs. This allows them to live and study in another country, immerse themselves in a new culture, and make long-lasting international connections.

• Global perspectives: We believe that a profound education must include a global perspective. That's why our curriculum is designed to provide students with a deeper understanding of the world and its diverse cultures, histories, and politics. This prepares our students to become active and informed citizens on the global stage.

In short, Encora is committed to fostering internationalisation and active citizenship in its students. Our focus on these goals ensures that our students graduate with a strong sense of purpose and the skills necessary to thrive in a rapidly changing world.
